I bet you are staring at your own website from the wrong side of the screen. Think I’m crazy? You might be right, but hear me out.
When you look at somebody else’s website, you think:
“Hm… what is this? Is it for me? How can it help me? Where do I click?”
But when you look at your own website, you think:
“Mmm… how cool it looks, how serious it sounds, how well it describes what we do. And these offers… they look pretty damn good!”
See the difference? It’s completely the other way around.
People tend to say on their websites what they – the owners – want to say. And visitors want to see what’s in it for them – the visitors.
It’s like looking at the label from inside the bottle. That’s what I mean by “the wrong side of the screen”.
It’s really hard to switch sides and look at your own website through your visitors’ eyes. That outside perspective is exactly what I help founders find.
If you need help - let me know. I'm helping climate and nature founders do exactly this.
